Bullhorn CRM
Bullhorn CRM launched their first crm product in 2009, they have since released a number of other crm related offerings including applicant tracking software, back office software, business intelligence software, their trademark crm software, onboarding software, relationship intelligence software, and vms integration software. All Bullhorn CRM software products are deployed in the cloud. This information in this review is only related to their crm software, not their other offerings.
Bullhorn was one of the few crm software solutions that does not offer a free trial, if you want to see it before purchasing it your only option is to schedule a live demo one-on-one with a Bullhorn CRM sales person. I will admit this stuck in my craw, does Bullhorn management believe they have a better chance of closing a deal if their prospects do not see it? I received the opposite impression when researching Bullhorn competitors such as Pipedrive CRM, Snapforce CRM, Zoho CRM; these companies go out of their way to let you use their product. My belief is companies that believe in their product want prospects to use it, see it, try it, the idea here is they believe so much in their product that once you try it you too will realize it's value.
Since there is no free trial, your best bet is to get started with one Bullhorn CRM license. After you finish the implementation of the software, if you like the system then purchase the additional licenses for the rest of your team. Now the one caveat is price, similar to their no free trial strategy, they also keep their pricing private. You will not be able to find pricing anywhere on their website, instead you have to submit a pricing request form. After which Bullhorn will send you an official price quote. To save you the time, Bullhorn CRM starting price is $99.
After the live demo I received from my Bullhorn CRM sales person, I was interested in using the product, so went ahead and got started. In an attempt to deploy the system completely independent of Bullhorn technical support, I cleared my schedule and pulled up the Bullhorn documentation. See the details below as to what I was able to configure myself and what I needed tech support for:
Did Without Bullhorn Tech Support
- Importing static leads and customers
- Creating custom fields
- Creating a web form hook to my website
Did With Bullhorn Tech Support
- Setting up email
- Branding the system
- Importing activities and associating them correctly**
All in all the process to get Bullhorn CRM deployed was not seamless, but it is what you would expect from a traditional software solution. If you are planning on using Bullhorn, be ready to speak with their technical support on the regular. I also will compliment their support team, as time and again I hung up the call impressed.
To conclude this review, Bullhorn CRM is not built like most of the other top crm products, that is probably because it is not a broad based all purpose crm software, it is instead built for recruitment or applicant tracking operations. The standard field's are setup this way, the page layouts are formatted for this purpose. You can customize the system to have it work for other uses, but I only recommend doing that if you are already using Bullhorn and really do not want to migrate to a new solution. If you are a recruiting firm or need a system for applicant tracking and human resource management, I do recommend Bullhorn CRM.
